Dear Stakeholder,
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is currently working on a Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Safety Assessment. Once complete, the assessment will identify areas with high numbers and rates of crashes, which are considered “high-risk” to vulnerable road users (people walking, bicycling or rolling), and outline a preliminary program of projects and strategies to reduce safety risks in these areas.
Virtual Meeting about NMDOT’s Vulnerable Road User Safety Assessment
Join us for our upcoming virtual stakeholder meeting Thursday October 26th, 2023, from 2:30-4pm. At the meeting we will:
–Provide an overview of Vulnerable Road User Safety Assessment results, including: the High Injury Network (HIN), equity analysis, prioritized segments, and crashes by county.
–Discuss tools to rollout the results of the VRU Safety Assessment and use for implementation.
–Demo the VRU Safety Assessment web-based tools.
–Share how you can provide input for the upcoming Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP).
join the meeting at https://bit.ly/VRUmeeting. Please share with those in your network who you think would like to attend.
Sincerely,
